SARASOTA EGRET

Living in Sarasota Florida for 5 years and attending the Ringling School Of Art was a dream come true for a young man that loved art. That was 50 years ago and my love of the Gulf Coast remains with me all these years later.
I took this photo years ago on Lido Key and decided to try painting it just recently.
Beginning with a Black Gessoed Canvas I used variations of warm Siennas placed along side cool Blues and Greens. The Egret feathers were a little challenging, but using Wildlife techniques I learned from Ms. Bea Cox years ago they look pretty good.
This painting measured 30" x 30" and was painted on a Gallery Wrapped Canvas.
